JOHN DONAHOE
President and CEO, eBay
John Donahoe became President and CEO of eBay Inc. on March 31, 2008. In this role, John has global responsibility for growing each of the company's business units, which include eBay Marketplaces, PayPal and Skype.

John came to eBay in February 2005 as President of eBay Marketplaces, responsible for all elements of eBay's global ecommerce businesses. In this role, he focused on expanding eBay's core business, which accounts for a large percentage of the company's revenues. John also oversaw a number of strategic acquisitions, including Shopping.com and StubHub, and classifieds sites, such as Gumtree and LoQUo.

During the three years he served as President of Marketplaces, revenues and profits for this division doubled. Prior to eBay, John spent more than 20 years at Bain & Company, a worldwide consulting firm based in Boston. Starting as an Associate Consultant, John rose to become the firm's CEO, where he oversaw Bain's 30 offices and 3,000 employees.

In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of eBay Inc. and Intel Corporation, John is also on the Board of Trustees of Dartmouth College.

John received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
 
LORRIE NORRINGTON
President, eBay Marketplaces
Lorrie has overall responsibility for eBay Marketplaces, a global business unit that contributes a significant portion of eBay Inc.'s total revenue.

Before becoming president of eBay Marketplaces in July 2008, Lorrie had been responsible for the North America business unit, global technology, and global customer service as head of Marketplaces Operations, a position she assumed in January 2008. Prior to this role, she was president of eBay International, overseeing the strategic and financial planning, marketing, operations, product development and business development for eBay's international businesses, including eBay's network of sites in Europe and Asia Pacific.

Lorrie started her career at eBay in June 2005, when she joined the company as president and CEO of Shopping.com, eBay's online comparison shopping business. Prior to Shopping.com, Lorrie spent four years at Intuit Inc., where she first served as Intuit's executive vice president of small businesses and personal finance, leading the company's QuickBooks and Quicken brands. She then was a member of the office of the CEO, responsible for operations, verticals and all non-US businesses.

Before joining Intuit, Lorrie spent 20 years at GE in a variety of global roles in the information services, medical systems, industrial systems and financial services businesses.

Lorrie holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. She serves on the Board of Directors of McAfee, Inc., as well as on the Advisory Board of the Catalyst Group.
 
GENE ALVAREZ
Research Vice President – CRM & E-Commerce Research, Gartner Group
Gene Alvarez has more than 23 years of IT experience in business impact assessment, vendor management, project management, software development and delivery of complex business applications. He is a recognized authority on retail and consumer packaged goods industry applications and practices. Mr. Alvarez is also an international expert on sell-side strategies and technologies such as: channel/partner relationship management, catalog/content management, sell-side e-commerce applications, catalog/configuration management and presentation, commerce/merchant applications and services, Web content management, personalization, and consumer portals. He has spoken at many industry-related conferences worldwide and has been ublished/referenced/featured in various media and trade publications.

Prior to joining Gartner he held positions with Nine West Group, KPMG Peat Marwick, New York Power Authority and AT&T Communications.
 
MARK CARGES
CTO, SVP of Global Platform, eBay Marketplaces
As SVP of Platform for eBay Inc. and CTO of Marketplaces, Mark Carges is responsible for accelerating the company's platform innovation. He is also responsible for overseeing the technology architecture, software development and site operations for eBay.com.

Prior to joining eBay in September 2008, Mark was executive vice president, products and general manager, for the Business Interaction Division at BEA Systems, a provider of enterprise application infrastructure software that was acquired by Oracle in April 2008. During more than a decade at BEA, Mark held a variety of other senior technology leadership roles, including Chief Technology Officer.

Mark began his career at Bell Labs as one of the original architects of Tuxedo, software for constructing highly scalable transaction processing applications. Prior to BEA, he designed and developed early versions of Tuxedo at Bell Labs, Unix System Labs and Novell.

Mark holds a BA in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley and an MS degree in Computer Science from New York University.

AMITABH SRIVASTAVA
Senior Vice President, Server and Cloud Division, Microsoft
Amitabh Srivastava is senior vice president of the Server and Cloud Division with responsibilities for Windows Azure and Windows Server.

Mr. Srivastava joined Microsoft in 1997 as a senior researcher and led the Advanced Development Tools group in Microsoft Research that investigated new techniques to improve the performance and quality of Microsoft software. He founded the Programmer Productivity Research Center (PPRC) in March 1999 that has produced many tools and technologies now critical to Microsoft product groups. In January 2001, Mr. Srivastava became one of a select few to be named a Distinguished Engineer at Microsoft.

Mr. Srivastava joined the Windows group in December 2003 as corporate vice president to redefine the engineering process for Windows Vista. He was responsible for the development of core operating system components such as the kernel, operating system architecture, definition of development processes, and development of advanced tools to automate the development processes.

In late 2006, with Dave Cutler he started "project Red Dog" to build the operating system for the cloud. Project Red Dog was announced as Windows Azure at Professional Developers Conference (PDC) 2008. After the commercial launch of Windows Azure at PDC 2009, Mr. Srivastava moved to lead the Server and Cloud Division with responsibility for a full spectrum of solutions from on-premises offerings to the cloud.

Before working for Microsoft, Mr. Srivastava was the chief technical officer and vice president of engineering at TracePoint Technology Inc., a spin-off company from Digital Equipment Corp. He joined Digital's Western Research Labs (DEC WRL) in Palo Alto, Calif. in 1991. Mr. Srivastava's research on binary code modification at DEC WRL resulted in the creation of TracePoint. Mr. Srivastava started his career as a researcher at Texas Instruments Inc.'s Research Labs in Dallas, Texas, in 1984 after graduating from Pennsylvania State University.

Mr. Srivastava holds 14 patents and has published a variety of papers. His paper on ATOM with Alan Eustace in PLDI 1994 received the Most Influential PLDI Paper Award in June 2005. He is the author of OM, ATOM and SCOOPS software systems, which have resulted in products for Digital Equipment and Texas Instruments on the Alpha and PC platforms. He led the design and development of Vulcan, a second-generation binary transformation system, at Microsoft. Vulcan is the foundation of a wide variety of tools developed at PPRC.

Mr. Srivastava delivered the commencement address titled "Fourth and Goal" at the College of Engineering graduation ceremonies at Pennsylvania State University, University Park on May 16, 2008.

Mr. Srivastava earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, and a master's degree in computer science from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pa. The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur awarded him the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2004. The Pennsylvania State University named him Outstanding Engineering Alumnus in 2004 and inducted him as an Alumni Fellow in 2009.
 
RENEE J. JAMES
Senior Vice President, General Manager, Software and Services Group,
Intel Corporation
Renee J. James is senior vice president and general manager of the Software and Services Group for Intel Corporation. She is responsible for delivering software products and support across Intel's entire product line by building and distributing software and services products and partnering with independent software partners in the industry. In addition, she is responsible for the Intel worldwide developer programs as well as R&D of next generation software. Her organization operates in more than 20 countries.

Ms. James is chairman of two Intel subsidiaries: Wind River Systems and Havok, both of which report into the Software and Services Group. Wind River Systems is a leading real-time operating system vendor and embedded software provider. Havok is a leading middleware provider offering software products for high performance gaming such as physics and animation. Ms. James also serves as an independent director on the VMware Inc. Board of Directors and is a member of the Audit Committee. She is also a member of the C200.

Previously, Ms. James was vice president of Developer Programs for Intel. In this capacity, she was responsible for overseeing Intel's relationship and development efforts with partners such as Microsoft. Prior to that, she was the director and COO of Intel Online Services, Intel's datacenter business. She also served for four years as technical assistant to past Intel chairman and CEO Andy Grove. She has contributed to several key software and services efforts during her tenure at Intel: the first software video codecs (Indeo) and the Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for the unification of Unix on Intel Architecture. Additionally, she was part of the pioneering team working with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to move applications to the Intel Architecture.

Ms. James joined Intel in 1988 with the acquisition of Bell Technologies. She received her bachelor's degree in 1986 and master's degree in 1992, both from the University of Oregon.
 
MARTYN MALLICK
Senior Director, Strategic Alliances
Martyn Mallick leads the Business Development team within the Strategic Alliances organization for Research In Motion. His team at RIM is responsible for identifying, negotiating, and integrating partner products and services that will strengthen the BlackBerry product and service offering. In this role, Mr. Mallick has set up some of RIM’s keystone relationships in the mobile commerce, ticketing, multimedia and social networking markets.

Prior to RIM, Martyn worked at iAnywhere Solutions (a subsidiary of Sybase, Inc.) as Director of Mobile Solutions, where he was responsible for evaluating and prototyping cutting-edge technologies to drive development of new solutions in the wireless arena. As well, Mr. Mallick previously held product management and technical marketing positions at Sybase, Powersoft, and Watcom.

Mr. Mallick is also the author of a comprehensive book on mobile and wireless computing called "Mobile and Wireless Design Essentials," and holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems and Computing Engineering from the University of Guelph.
 
OSAMA BEDIER
Vice President of platform, mobile and new ventures, PayPal
Osama Bedier is vice president of platform, mobile and new ventures at PayPal. He oversees PayPal X, PayPal’s open global payments platform that allows independent and enterprise developers to build new and innovative payment applications for a wide variety of online and mobile applications.

During his seven-year career with PayPal and eBay, Bedier has held numerous engineering and product development management responsibilities. Most recently, he was vice president of product development for all consumer- and merchant-facing products. Previously, he led product development for PayPal’s merchant services business, where he oversaw the rollout of PayPal’s suite of products that serve businesses off of eBay, as well as PayPal’s international product development. Bedier began his career at eBay where he worked on the re-architecture of eBay’s next generation platform.

Prior to PayPal, Bedier served as director of technology for DG Systems Inc./Starguide Satellite Systems. As director of technology, his team built and managed an innovative nationwide Internet cable TV service with user-targeted advertising. He has served in product management and architecture roles at Gateway Inc. and AT&T Wireless.

Bedier received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of California.
